Savoring Italy Series: Discovering Sicilia!

On Friday, March 28th, our ICS headquarters came alive with the authentic flavors and traditions of Sicilia during the latest event in our Apericena – Savoring Italy series. Guests enjoyed an evening dedicated to one of Italy’s most fascinating regions, celebrating its culture through food, wine, and community.

The night began with an insightful presentation by Prof. Annelise Brody Morani, who took us on a journey through Sicily’s stunning landscapes, rich traditions, and exceptional eno-gastronomic heritage.

Enhancing the experience, guests indulged in a selection of Sicilian specialties. Il Canale Georgetown generously provided authentic food and wine, while Prof. Lavinia Fici Pasquina, Vice Chair of our Board of Directors, prepared a delicious traditional Sicilian-style eggplant lasagna, adding a personal touch to the evening.

The relaxed apericena setting allowed guests to connect, enjoy the region’s distinctive flavors, and immerse themselves in Sicily’s vibrant culinary culture. Whether sharing a glass of wine or discovering a new favorite dish, the evening was a wonderful celebration of tradition and community.

Grazie mille to all who joined us and to our generous contributors for making this event such a success. If you missed it, don’t worry—our journey through Italy continues!

Stay tuned for the next stop in our Savoring Italy series—we look forward to exploring another incredible region with you! 🌟
