Exploring Italy’s Regional Food & Wine

5-week course — in English 

Online via Zoom – 5 lessons
Saturday 2:15 – 4:15 pm – June 5th to July 3rd  

You’ve seen CNN’s Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, now do it yourself this spring! Instructor Carlo Ellena will be your virtual tour guide through 6 regions of Italy to discover the distinct histories of traditional food and wine of each place. You will also learn tips on traditional recipes and foodie tours, gastronomical trends, restaurants, secrets and vocabulary in Italian. In other words, you’ll be the gastronomic insider on your next trip to Italy!

BEGINNERS 1 (A1)

Start and learn about Italian Language and Culture.

Online via Zoom – 10 lessons

Monday/Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm ET – June 28th to July 30th
Instructor: Dario Penzo

This course is for students that have no o few knowledge of Italian.

Our method includes various techniques, in order to meet the different learning styles of each student: guided conversations, role play, reading, listening, exercises from the textbook and other sources, songs and video. Students will need to purchase the textbook: Nuovo Contatto A1 (Loescher editore) online.

PLEASE NOTE: Maximum of 10 students. There will be a tuition surcharge if less than 5 students are enrolled in a course.

Laura’s Elementary review (A2)

Discover the Italian language and culture.

Online via Zoom – 6 lessons
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm ET – August  30th to Sep. 17th
Instructor: Laura Loddo

After the successful “Beginners 2… After Aperitivo,” Instructor Laura Loddo continues this amazing learning experience.

A review Course to fixate the concepts of of the previous Elementary 1 and 2 classes. She will than continue with the course that follows the book and our curriculum, in Fall (starting the week of September 20th)

This course is for students with basic knowledge of Italian who have already completed the A1 level, which includes Beginners 1 and 2 (A1).

Students will need to purchase the textbook: Nuovo Contatto A2 (Loescher editore) online.

Italy Today (B1)

Reading, listening and translating Italian news with the help of the instructor.
