EXPLORING ITALY’S REGIONAL FOOD & WINE

You’ve seen CNN’s Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, now do it yourself this spring! Instructor Carlo Ellena will be your virtual tour guide through 12 regions of Italy to discover the distinct histories of traditional food and wine of each place. You will also learn tips on traditional recipes and foodie tours, gastronomical trends, restaurants, secrets and vocabulary in Italian. In other words, you’ll be the gastronomic insider on your next trip to Italy!

The 10 lessons will cover the following Italian regions:

  1. Piemonte
  2. Lombardia
  3. Veneto/Friuli
  4. Toscana
  5. Marche/Umbria
  6. Lazio
  7. Campania
  8. Puglia
  9. Sicilia
  10. Sardegna

ELEMENTARY 2 (A2)… Italian with Laura!

Discover the Italian language and culture.

Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm ET – April 7th to June 9th
Instructor: Laura Loddo

After the successful “Beginners 2… After Aperitivo,” Instructor Laura Loddo continues this amazing learning experience.

You will learn to express yourself in the past tense and in the imperfect, talking about leisure activities, family, work, ideas, planning, etc. The grammar will focus on nouns and articles, present tense and irregular verbs, reflexives and imperative. Also, direct and indirect object pronouns, prepositions, comparatives and the ‘si’ impersonal form. The best part? The last 15 minutes will be spent exploring various cultural aspects!

This course is for students with basic knowledge of Italian who have already completed the A1 level, which includes Beginners 1 and 2 (A1).

Our method includes various techniques, in order to meet the different learning styles of each student: guided conversations, role play, reading, listening, exercises from the textbook and other sources, songs and video. Students will need to purchase the textbook: Nuovo Contatto A2 (Loescher editore) online.
