BEPPE GAMBETTA IN CONCERT: A musical journey across lands and memories.

On Friday, June 21st, the Italian Cultural Society headquarters in Bethesda hosted a sold-out evening with Beppe Gambetta, in collaboration with the Folklore Society of Greater Washington.

An internationally recognized guitarist, singer-songwriter, and composer, Gambetta presented his new program, Terra Madre—a musical journey through stories of migration, memory, and cultural roots. Blending original pieces with powerful lyrics and masterful guitar playing, he guided the audience through a landscape shaped by tradition, identity, and the desire to imagine new paths.

The concert drew inspiration from voices of indigenous communities, migrants, and artists like Fabrizio De André, connecting personal stories to universal themes.

Guests enjoyed homemade focaccia genovese, Peroni beer, and Ferrero chocolates, all while supporting the Maria Wilmeth Awards Fund, which provides scholarships to high school students studying Italian in the DC area.

We thank Beppe Gambetta for sharing his music and vision with our community, and all those who joined us for this special evening. And a special thank you to our generous sponsors.
