🎭 WNO’s Aida: An Exclusive ICS Members Night
On Thursday, October 30th, the Italian Cultural Society partnered with the Washington National Opera to offer members an unforgettable evening at the Kennedy Center. The night featured an exclusive backstage tour of Verdi’s Aida, followed by a champagne toast and a night of grand opera.
Members began the evening behind the curtain, guided by the WNO stage manager and crew, who shared rare behind-the-scenes insights into the artistry, coordination, and craftsmanship that bring Verdi’s timeless masterpiece to life. From the scale of the set to the beauty of the costumes, guests experienced the magic that happens long before the curtain rises.
Just before the performance, Francesca Zambello, Artistic Director of the WNO, joined our Italian group to personally welcome everyone and wish them una stupenda visione dell’opera Aida!
The evening continued with a champagne toast, conversation, and the anticipation of Verdi’s music filling the hall, a true celebration of Italian art, culture, and community at its finest.
